Granville Island Manhunt! [Jul. 19th, 2007|08:29 pm]

Granville Island Manhunt!

Wednesday, July 25, 2007

7:30pm - 10:00pm

Granville Island

Anderson St and Cartwright st

Contact InfoPhone:

After much demand, we will be invading the new territory of Granville Island. This is going to be rad! We will be meeting on the wood bridge under the big bridge along Anderson Street before beginning the rampage through the island.

Manhunt is a hide-and-seek variant. The game starts out with one person, known as the MANHUNTER, who is “it”. After the manhunter has been selected, the FUGITIVES have 120 seconds to hide.

If a FUGITIVE is tagged by a MANHUNTER, she or he is BRAINWASHED and forced to join the side of the MANHUNTERS. At the end of the designated time limit, all FUGITIVES who have not been arrested are declared the winners.

Play occurs within predetermined boundaries. If a FUGITIVE exits these boundaries for any reason, she/he joins the MANHUNTERS. Players are identified as being distinct from the general civilian population by means of a HIGHLY-VISIBLE ARMBAND.

Pirate vs. Ninja 7 Day Urban Gaming Clash June 4th-10th [Jun. 2nd, 2007|11:04 am]

The war between Pirates and Ninjas has continued over countless generations. Will this be the final showdown between Pirates and Ninjas? The clash will continue each day, for seven days. Each will be able to show their merit as a true Pirate or Ninja through a series of challenges. These challenges will consist of Manhunt, Ringolevio, Water Gun Fights, Capture the Flag, Dodge Ball, Sardines, Bigger the Better, and more.

We also encourage everyone to wear your best attire to the events. Eye patches, peg legs, black garb, etc.

At this time, we are still hammering out the details so please keep up to date on any changes. We would also be very grateful for any feedback, suggestions, ideas, or hate-mail. This is an event for the community, so we would like as much participation as possible. Conclusive updates will be posted on the main website: http://manhunt-vancouver.com/

need a job? [May. 10th, 2007|02:56 pm]

If you have a car, and want a part time evening job in Surrey let me know.

The place I work part time is looking for more pizza delivery drivers.  Wage is $8/hr paid every 2 weeks and tips paid nightly.  Most I've got for tips in a night was $60 in a 6 hour shift. Usually around $20-$30, of course Fridays and weekends are busier.  Shifts start between 4pm and 5:30pm and are from 2 hours to 8 hours (store closes at 11pm, done cleanup between 11:30 and 12:00) depending on if you're closing or not.  Only 1 driver per night closes.
They need reliable people who aren't going to work only a day or two (admittedly I started there with the intention of it only being for a couple weeks, but its actually pretty good money).  I have never used more gas than what I've gotten in tips at the end of the night....it's usually more than enough although I suppose it depends on what you drive too.
With wage and tips I personally average at about $14/hr.  Some nights end up averaging at close to $18.

Location is in Surrey,  near the YMCA on Hwy 10.
reply with your email address and I can give you more details or answer any questions you might have.

Suburbia Catastrophe [May. 5th, 2007|10:04 am]

The leaders of the pack are heading out to mark some new territory as our own. We need all those who are neither sick nor lame to prowl into Joyce Station with us and then defend the new soil. There are no other options, but to spread out in search of new prey; the Manhunter masses are growing exponentially -- our comfortable habitat will not be able to sustain all of us for much longer. Only the strongest, quickest, and craftiest will be able to survive this endeavour. Yet, if you stay behind, the pack will lose faith in you. Come cut your teeth on the new location; get to know the area before others get a chance. If you survive, you can wear your courage as a badge. Yes, many will become prey themselves, yet to live life – to really live life – one must take near unconquerable risks.

WEDNESDAY May 9th 2007 @ 7:30 & 8:45 pm @ Joyce Skytrain Station

(no subject) [Feb. 24th, 2007|11:34 am]

Paul Callow, a convicted rapist recently completed his 20 year prison sentence. During this time he did receive some therapy, but did not seem to respond to it. He admitted to his psychologist that he had indeed raped 26 women, not only the 5 he was convicted of and showed no remorse.

Also while in jail he attempted to rape a nurse during drug counseling.
This man is apparently moving into the Newton area and I for one will not stand for it. He committed the crimes in Ontario and is never allowed to set foot in Ontario again, so why should we be stuck with him? He was incarcerated before the dangerous offenders act came into play, so instead of being slowly integrated into society he was just released. As of Feb 23rd he is a free man and is apparently choosing to reside in Newton.

I have contacted the Mayor of Surrey Dianne Watts and together we are organizing a rally. If you want something to say about this, or want to support the protection of women over the protection of the “rights” of a convicted rapist I urge you to join us.

Make a sign (something along the lines of "Safety of the community" or "Protect Women" “Every woman is someone's daughter” or anything you come up with yourself) and join us at the Newton Exchange Bus Loop at 72nd and 138th near the Newton Wave Pool at 2pm on Sunday February 25th, 2007. Bring your family, friends and please forward this to everyone on your email lists. We have to get the word out that a convicted rapist, who is at high risk to re offend is living in our area.

News crews will be on the scene.

Even if you can't make it to the rally, show your support by sending this to everyone you can.

This rally is more about wanting to make the public aware that he is here than trying to chase him out into other people's areas. Just to clarify.
